Losing weight is a great task in itself, and keeping it off should require less effort. However, not everyone can do these, usually because the program used in weight loss was drastic or it did not train the individual to be disciplined with his or her eating habits and physical activities. Once you achieve the weight you desire, the following tips are handy in warding off any extra pounds threatening to come back.
- Be conscious of what you eat but never deprive yourself of a treat once in a while.
- Stay active. Make exercise or playing a sport part of your routine.
- Don’t forget your water and fiber! Both may not have any nutritional value per se, but water aids your kidneys in cleansing the body as well as in giving you a feeling of satiety. Fiber found in fruits and vegetables significantly decreases the risk of colon cancer, and it also gives you that same “full” feeling after a meal.
- Keep a journal. It is a handy method for recording the joys and frustrations of battling the bulge.
